Effective July 1st Parks Vic will be closing a trail running through a sensitive ecological area bounded by River Avenue in the north and “Pipeline Track” on it’s south edge. On Strava it is known as “Strawberry Fields”.

The fenced area is a section of remnant Yellow Gum bush land that contains significant flora species and has been identified as having a high diversity of orchids. The installation of gates and completion of the exclusion fence will protect this area from grazing animals, and from disturbance via walkers and cyclists.

The trail has signs at it’s ends to make riders aware and signs have also been posted informing riders of possible detour routes to avoid the sensitive section.
